This intensive comprises three segments:

Segment One: Basics of Hadith Nomenclature Students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of hadith nomenclature. We will discuss the introductory terminology and classifications used in hadith studies and classifications of hadith—such as “sahih” (rigorously sound) and “da’if” (weak)—while exploring what the scholars. Through this introduction, students will gain a clear understanding of how hadith is categorized and the importance of these classifications in scholarly texts.

Segment Two: Translating and Understanding the Bayquniyyah Poem The students will delve into the “Bayquniyyah” ode, a foundational primer in hadith nomenclature. They will engage in a line-by-line translation, deciphering the text and focusing on the nuances of the Arabic language to foster a thorough understanding of the popular text. Delving into this text offers students an opportunity to explore the hadith-terminology discussions in the broader hadith studies while highlighting the important role this popular text plays alongside related works and commentaries, enriching their further studies in the science.

Segment Three: Prosodic Breakdown of the Text Students will become familiar with a complete prosodic breakdown of the Bayquniyyah, emphasizing its rhythm and valid forms of pronunciation of its words. This segment will be particularly beneficial for those aiming to memorize the poem without the common inaccuracies. This segment will assist effective memorization of texts in poetry form, ensuring students understand the phonetics and meter of the poem. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to memorize the poem efficiently while preserving its original poetic meter.
