Usthādhah Durré teaches Qur’ān classes, workshops, and intensives at Ibn Kathir Academy. She has been instructing and teaching Qur’ānic basics, pronunciation [tajwīd] and recitation to children and adults for nearly a decade. She has traditionally studied the Qur’ānic sciences under the supervision of qualified scholars and received certification [ijāzah] in Tuḥfah al-Aṭfāl, al-Jazariyyah, as well as in the reading [riwāyah] of Ḥafṣ from ʿĀṣim. Ust.
Durré is also a certified Early Childhood Educator, continuing to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Education at Ryerson University.
Her reframing of traditional methodologies with a progressive classroom approach has gained her a good reputation among many children and parents in North America.
